Volunteer or Intern at CornerHouse

you are a vital part of our organization

CornerHouse’s volunteers and interns help bring our purpose to life - to pursue safety, justice and healing to youth and their families who have experienced abuse.

Volunteering at CornerHouse is hands-on, educational, and rewarding. Check out our volunteer opportunities below:

  • Interact with children, adolescents, and vulnerable adults before and after their interviews (4 hours/week).

  • Every day is different! Help us complete various projects that will improve our efficiency and better serve clients. Remote and work from home volunteer opportunities are available.

  • Do you have a special skill you’d like to share? Be it technology, maintenance, web development, or more - we’d be happy to talk with you and see how you can help.

  • We offer undergraduate and graduate internships for our Forensic and Family Services programs. Acquire new skills and help fulfill CornerHouse’s mission.

Board and Committee Opportunities

Be a key actor in making a difference!

As a child advocacy center with a mission to partner with families, communities, and systems to reduce trauma and end abuse - the best way to make a change is to bring your experience and voice to our decisions.

  • Purpose: The CornerHouse Board of Directors is composed of: (1) members who represent organizations that partner with CornerHouse’s services, and (2) at-large members with no such affiliation, but who bring legal, strategy, operational or other insights. CornerHouse is currently seeking to fill six board positions with professionals who can support our capacity-building campaign by expanding our network, funding, and other supports.

    Meeting Time: 4th Thursday, bi-monthly from 4 – 5:30 pm

    Chair: Lisa Hauser

  • The purpose of the Young Professionals Board is to serve as leaders by increasing engagement in prevention efforts; by expanding the network of CornerHouse’s Champions for Children; providing a voice to corporations, government administrations, and others to increase awareness and resources; and by planning and implementing CornerHouse’s Champions Breakfast Fundraiser.

    Meets monthly

Members are up to the age of 40 in a professional position.

CornerHouse strives to have everyone’s voice heard. Joining one of our emerging committees allows you to guarantee that all our local communities are having their needs met and that a lot of different professionals can collaborate to reduce trauma.

  • Purpose: assure that CornerHouse’s services are reflective of the communities we serve and are culturally responsive. Two members of this committee will be elected to the board of directors.

  • Purpose: bring together professionals working across the spectrum of child abuse to examine ways in which we can reduce trauma in child abuse investigations and services. Representatives of positions in law enforcement, county attorney’s, health care, mental health, advocacy, etc. can sit on the board of directors.
