18th Annual Twins Fundraiser

Eight-hundred CornerHouse supporters helped make the 18th Annual Twins Fundraiser a sellout as the Twins treated them to a hard-fought victory over their Central Division rivals, the Chicago White Sox. The 5-3 victory on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 put an end to White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle's attempt to pitch two consecutive perfect games.

TC Bear, a face painter, and accordion playing police detective Bill Koncar provided entertainment for the enthusiastic picnickers. Sponsors this year were: NorthMarq, parksmartmpls, Crown Bank, Denison Parking, Opus Foundation, Columbia Building Services, Divine Swine Catering, Freddie Mac and, of course, the Minnesota Twins.

The game was a great end to a fun-filled evening. The silent auction included highly sought autographs by former Twins greats Harmon Killebrew and Tony Oliva as well as a signed bat from current Twin Justin Morneau. The live auction included a complete Twins suite for a 2010 game donated by Ed Padilla.
