Minimal Facts Training
This one-day seminar is designed for first-responders such as law enforcement officers and medical professionals who have responsibility for gathering minimal facts from children regarding allegations of abuse. A process is taught that professionals can utilize when talking with a child or vulnerable adult suspected of being a victim of maltreatment. This process will assist in gathering enough information about the allegation to make a mandated report without interfering with the investigative process.
Training methods utilize skill building through role-plays, lecture information to discern healthy sexuality development from concerning behaviors, dynamics and disclosure of child sexual abuse, and the reporting process. Attendance during the entire day is mandatory in order to receive a certificate of completion.
